OOPs!! I have not been updating my blog for more than 1 year!!! Must be Superb lazy!! Actually, what happen is that I FORGOT MY PASSWORD! True that i can request for my password
to be sent to the destinated email acct. But U know what, i have terminated that singnet
acct! So, no use to request for password... anyway, that's a long long story..
Let me update u along the way.. I have FINALLY QUIT teaching!! *Oh Yes!* To tell you the
truth,I love to be in class, teaching my favourite subject, Math. BUT....(that's always the
but....) Let's not talk about the negative ISSUES about my ex-school.Anyway, my last day in school was on 21st march 07. I remember that it was a
Wednesday.Weather was not good, was raining heavily. The morning assembly was then held at
the school hall. The usual routines - Singing of national anthem and saying of
announcements. The Principal then went to the stage and announced that I am leaving the
Institute. He also "forced" me to go up to the stage to receive something from him. Make a
guess, what did he pass to me on the stage? Is it a cruise voucher? Is it a certificate of good service?
NO! NO! NO! He gave me a exit survey form from MOE! How insulting can he be!! What was he
trying to show to the staff and whole student population?? This really makes me feel that he
was such a GREAT Pretender! Anyway, let's not talk abt him anymore. I was most touched by my
home class (form class). They queued up to give me their well wishes as well as the flower
that they made. This class is quite an interesting class. The guys are more pampered than
gals!!! What has the world come to?? In general, teenagers are more spolit and lazy as
compared to our times. Their parents really pampered them to the MAX! *Sigh* In future, when i have my kid/s, I must not spoil them. They need to know the importance of
spending $ wisely, not wastefully. That will wait till we have our first kid......
Currently, i am working in IRO (NUS). Got this job through some pulling of strings - a
friend & the ex-boss in OUR (NUS) whom i worked for during my varsity holidays. Am really
fortunate to have a strict yet capable boss and a friendly working environment. Guess what,
i have a corner by myself, overseeing the University cultural centre (UCC). Am really
enjoyable to work here. Though the work may not be easy, lots of stuffs to learn and adapt,
i am trying cope.....This job has lots of exposures to Big shots in the political world. For
eg, we just hosted a visit from Mr Li Yuanchao, party secretary from Jiangsu Province,
China. He was in SIngapore with Vice premier, Wu Yi to attend some events. This visit was
sort of last minute arrow! Bomb was dropped on Monday nite and all preparations must be done
by wednesday. We worked like mad on tuesday and wednesday... there were alot of items to
prepare, like speech must be in mandarin, even the powerpoint slides were in mandarin too
etc.. This was my first encounter with the translation of speech from english to mandarin.
Not easy, really not easy!! But was a good exposure, at least to me. ENough of the visit..
More updates to come later...Now need to get back to WORK!!
